Livewell is celebrating winning two awards at Active Derbyshire's Towards an Active Derbyshire Awards 2019, which took place on Wednesday 6th March at the SportsDirect Offices in Shirebrook.  The team along with clients and volunteers were finalists in five of the eight categories.

Former client and volunteer, Norman Todd scooped the Change4Life Award for his lifestyle transformation and amazing 10 stone weight loss, thanks to the specialist cardiac support he received from Livewell following a minor heart attack.

Livewell’s Oakwood and Chaddesden volunteer team - Lee Blurton, Andrea and Mark Wightman and Lisa Fairbrother - won the Community Group of the Year for the significant difference they’ve made to local people’s lives by helping at Livewell health hubs, leading running sessions and supporting at exercise sessions.

Organised by Active Derbyshire, this was first ever awards to celebrate the clubs, facilities, volunteers, people and places across the county.  The event showcased how important and powerful physical activity can be in transforming communities and lives.

Congratulations to all our finalists including the Liveability team, Julie Hodge and Sandra Ward.
