Experience

I have been working in the healthy lifestyle sector for nearly 10 years now (that makes me feel old!), mainly within the NHS and Local Authorities with a little stint in a private healthcare company.

I originally graduated with a degree in Youth Studies and always geared towards working with young people and the wider community. Post-graduation I got my first job working with adults in a pilot smokeless tobacco project and since then I have always been working mainly with adults. How life turns out!  I always saw myself in a role where I engage with the public and meet new people and hence I have been here at Livewell for 7 years now.

Job Role

I am a Livewell Advisor – delivering smoking clinics, weight loss -activations, exercise classes and some work in the Royal Derby hospital too. I do a bit of everything and I am mainly out and about.

Me in 3 words

Chilled, adventurous and spontaneous!

My favourite meal

Wow, this is the hardest question I have had to answer. “Kadhi Kichri” – it’s an Indian thing!  I normally eat it 3-4 days on the trot when it’s made and can never ever have enough.

My passion/interests

Football, boxing, travelling, UFC, comedies, eating out and meeting friends. I love travelling the world, learning new cultures and ways of life and visiting non touristy areas.  If I could travel full time I would do it in a heartbeat!

My best achievement

100% getting married!  But my ultimate goal which I haven’t achieved yet is moving abroad and volunteering/working for a charity till my last days!

What you might be surprised to know

I have the worst sleeping routine ever. Most nights I don’t go sleep till 2-3am. I can’t remember the last time I went to bed before 1am. It’s a bad habit I have carried since my teenage years. But I am still fresh as a daisy for work – in case the bosses read this!

My top lifestyle tips

Do something that you enjoy to keep motivated, that way you won’t see it as a chore! I get my exercise out of playing football and using a punch bag in the garage.

My favourite motivational quote(s)

I've got a few:

The purpose of life is a life of purpose

Your greatness is not what you have, it’s what you give

Great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance
