We all know that walking is fantastic for our physical and mental wellbeing. Walking briskly most days can also boost your fitness, burn calories and help you lose weight. In addition it can also reduce your risks of developing health problems like type 2 diabetes, cancer, heart disease and stroke.
So why not make March the month to walk your way to a healthier and happier you?
How it works
There are three levels to choose from so you can select the step challenge that’s right for you. We’ve broken the month into weekly step counts so it’s achievable and puts you in control:
Level 1 = 35,000 steps a week
Level 2 = 50,000 steps a week
Level 3 = 100,000 steps a week

The Livewell team will support you every step of the way – through motivational social media posts and encouraging messages.
What you need to do
- To sign up please email firstname.lastname@example.org telling us your name, whether you’re a client, volunteer, Council colleague or Derby resident and which level you’re aiming for. If you’re a client, please let your advisor know so they can support you.
- Start counting those steps from 1 March and share your progress on our Facebook page, in our Facebook group (for clients/volunteers) and on Twitter. Share with your friends and family too!
- Email livewell@derby when you have completed the challenge confirming how many steps you have taken overall during March to receive your free digital certificate!
- Please adhere to lockdown and social distancing rules.
