Meet Lisa, Michelle, Sarah, Norman and Annmarie - our new Livewell volunteers who have all lost weight and improved their fitness with Livewell.

They are part of Livewell's new volunteer programme which supports existing and former clients to give something back to the service and their community.

Congratulations to Festive Fitness Challenge winner Naffia Fazal who completed an astonishing 113 physical activities in December and January, working out at 2 activities every day! Runner up, Lee Blurton completed 99 activities and both of them win a free 3-month Wellness membership.  Andrea Wightman won the prize draw for a £50 voucher. Well done to them all.  Goodie bags are on the way out to all participants who handed in their cards.

The bitter winter weather hasn't stopped you getting out and enjoying our health walks.  In fact our Alvaston walk saw 25 people regularly turn out in January and February including five new starters. 

We all know that walking is the easiest way to improve our physical and mental health and walking in cold temperatures can actually burn more calories as our bodies need to work harder to keep warm.

This cardio based class led by Livewell advisor, Kerry will improve your fitness level, burn calories, improve co-ordination and reduce stress by kicking and punching pads.

The energetic session uses hook and jab pads to punch using gloves and a kick shield to kick so you can execute many combinations that leave you feeling like you've had a highly effective workout.

Wellness Membership is an exclusive discounted 12-month membership for clients at the end of their Livewell plan who attend their 12-month review.

It includes Livewell sessions, leisure centre classes, gym and swim and costs only £23.50 a month. You have six months from the date your Livewell membership ends to take up the offer.
