Have your say to consultation image

Livewell is proud of its passionate and dedicated team which has supported more than 15,000 adults, children and families in Derby to stop smoking, lose weight, improve their fitness and change their lives for the better.

Key highlights for this year can be found in the Livewell Annual Report 2017/2018.

To keep the Livewell service going in its current capacity beyond 31 March 2019, Livewell needs your help.

The Council is facing some challenging budget decisions and is proposing a 40% (400k) budget reduction for Livewell in its Saving Proposal for People’s Services for 2019/2020.  This will mean reduced weight management and stop smoking services for children and adults in Derby from 1 April 2019.  It also means that most of Livewell’s specialist services will be cut.

The consultation information document gives full details of the proposals.

You can make a difference!

None of the Council’s budget decisions are easy particularly where there is increased demand and reduced funding.  However, your views will help shape the future of public health and social care services in the city. Have your say as soon as possible by completing the consultation survey.

Livewell is unsure how the proposed budget changes will affect its current clients but has promised to keep clients, partners and stakeholders updated through its team, social media, enewsletters and texts.  The consultation process ends on midnight on 1 February 2019.

In the meantime, Livewell is urging people in Derby not to be put off from applying for its free services.
