Experience

After graduating from the University of Derby in 2019 with a Bsc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science, my passion for motivating and helping others to achieve their goals flourished. I became fascinated by human behaviour and how I can best support people to make positive choices. As a result, I continued my education by undertaking a part-time MSc in Behaviour Change, specialising in health and well-being. In terms of my working career, I am in the early stages but I believe working for Livewell is an excellent opportunity for me to start applying theory into practise.

Job Role

My position as a Livewell Advisor includes supporting individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes to strengthen their physical and mental well-being. Whether this is done through stop smoking appointments, weight loss services or physical activity classes, I aim to help as many people as possible to reach their goals.

Me in three words

Ambitious, Approachable and Determined

My favourite meal

Club sandwich and fries – anything with carbohydrates!!

My passion/interests

Boxing – ‘‘No boxing, no life!’’ I also enjoying supplementing my boxing with strength and conditioning sessions in the gym; nothing beats that feeling after a hard session. I am also obsessed with dogs; I just love them so much!

My best achievement

Winning my first kickboxing Unified World Championship gold medal in Italy in 2014. I lost out the previous year but with hard-work and an excellent team around me we secured the win! This is closely followed by graduating from university, which I am hoping to do all over again this year.

What you might be surprised to hear about me

I started kickboxing at the age of seven, during this time, I competed in several local and international tournaments. I transitioned to boxing during my time at university.  In my first boxing debut as a senior I represented the East-Midlands in Ireland where I picked up a gold medal at the Esker BoxCup in 2018.

My top lifestyle tips

Do not strive for perfection, it’s not realistic! Be compassionate towards yourself, a lifestyle change is not only physically challenging but mentally. Consistency is key, keep pushing even on the days when you feel like giving up. Those are the days that truly count.

My favourite quote

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!”
