Walking is one of the most popular and safest forms of exercise and is accessible, free and something that the vast majority can participate in.  It can be broken up throughout the day to fit around work or other daily tasks and doesn’t need any special equipment or instructions.

Livewell offers a wide range of sociable free led walks across Derby - part of the Walking for Health scheme - which are open to everyone.  There's no need to book, just turn up five minutes before the start, wear comfortable clothes and supportive footwear.

Full details of the programme can be found at the Walking for Health Derby website.

If you would like to link to an existing walk or even start one from your practice to benefit your patients, please contact paul.mcginty@derby.gov.uk

Livewell is always on the look out for volunteers to help lead walks in different communities.  If you would like to become a Walk Leader volunteer, please contact paul.mcginty@derby.gov.uk
